“Let whoever is in charge keep this simple question in her head (not, how can I always do this right thing myself, but) how can I provide for this right thing to be always done?”
— Florence Nightingale, Notes on Nursing: What It Is, and What It Is Not
Florence Nightingale’s words continue to inspire, especially those of us who want to make a difference in healthcare delivery. Known as the patron saint of nurses and the “Lady of the Lamp,” Nightingale reminds us that making a good choice once is not enough. She has a better solution: create a system that guides us to consistently make good choices.
That’s our plan at Cerebro. Our platform helps nurses find opportunities they want, where they want, when they want them. (Our CEO describes how this idea got started years ago.) Part of the platform is making sure we are educated and thoughtful about compliance — meaning the system that guides us (Cerebro, nurses, and hospitals) to make good choices consistently and so, improve patient care one shift at a time.
Over the coming months, we will post in this Compliance Matters series about Cerebro’s efforts to ensure our platform users are positioned to make good choices and succeed. The result: (1) verified nurses are ready to request shifts quickly and easily; and (2) hospitals can trust that nurses who use Cerebro will deliver excellent patient care. Stay tuned!
